Scott McElroy, President, McElroy Risk Advisors
Scott has represented many national companies in regard to complex risk management programs and insurance placements for more than two decades.
Director of Risk Management
Scott has held senior executive positions as Director of Risk Management with an international publicly-traded specialty finance company. During this position he was involved in placement of complex professional liability programs, for a publicly traded REIT, and a diversified financial services parent company that also owned a federal bank, and a subsidiary company with mortgage origination operations throughout the US. He was also directly involved in the successful public restructuring of the parent company.
President of National Insurance Brokerage
Scott was Founder and President of a successful multi-state licensed insurance brokerage, which provided insurance services to consumers through mortgage servicing operations.
Account Executive – International and Regional Insurance Brokerage
Scott served as Oregon Managing Director for a large regional insurance brokerage, and previously as one of the top insurance producers nationally for a leading international brokerage.
Account Executive – Insurance Company
Scott started his career at Wausau Insurance Companies, and received formal training in underwriting, loss adjusting, rating; while representing all lines of products including property/casualty, surety, professional liability, employee benefits and retirement products.
Education
Scott graduated from Lewis & Clark College and studied abroad at the London School of Economics and University of Edinburgh.
Affiliations
Scott has been and continues to be actively involved in the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) on a national and local basis. He is a member and past speaker with the Construction and Financial Management Association (CFMA), a member of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) as well as other specific trade and risk organizations.
